CENTRAL NEW YORK -- All this month, 22 restaurants across the region are selling a specialty dessert in which some or part of the proceeds go to purchase comfort packages for cancer patients.
Positively Pink Packages is a local non-profit agency that puts the supplies together, including items like CDs, books, and pillows.
"We want patients to be aware of the resources so, while we can't change the fact that they're diagnosed, at least what we can do is provide these resources to them to help them get through this time. And, we want them to know that they're not alone," said Jennifer Tom, Positively Pink Packages Executive Director.
