Traffic Alert: I-690 westbound closing again

<span style="color:#cc0000"><em>Traffic Alert: </em></span>I-690 westbound closing again

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- According to the Department of Transportation, starting Friday, Interstate 690 westbound will be closed in Syracuse again. This time, the closure will be from Teall Avenue to West Street due to construction on the North Crouse Avenue bridge.

This portion of I-690 will be closed starting at 9 a.m. Friday until Monday afternoon.

The detour varies depending whether drivers need to continue on I-690, travel north on I-81 or south on I-81.

Full list of detours:

-Westbound 690 traffic: Detoured to Thompson Road and Teall Avenue exits, proceed south onto Erie Boulevard, turn right onto Erie Boulevard, turn left onto Almond Street, right onto Washington Street then right onto West Street before turning back onto 690 west.

-Westbound 690 onto 81 South: Detoured to Teall Avenue exit, proceed south onto Erie Boulevard, turn right onto Erie Boulevard, follow existing 81 signs to turn left onto Almond Street, then take the on-ramp to 81 South.

-Westbound 690 onto 81 North: Detoured to Teall Avenue exit, proceed south onto Erie Boulevard, turn right onto Erie Boulevard, follow existing 81 signs to turn right onto North State Street, left onto East Willow Street, then right onto Pearl Street, then take the on-ramp to 81 North.
