MARCELLUS, N.Y. -- A Marcellus High School student has been arrested for alleged threats called into the school that forced the school into lockdown.

The Onondaga County Sheriff’s office says Jacob Downing, 17, called in with his cell phone indicating an armed student was going to kill other students.

Investigators say that call came in just prior to Downing being dismissed from school this morning because of illness. They say a text message later said there was a bomb in the school.

The high school was in lockdown for three hours and was searched and nothing was found.

Downing's home was also searched and police found nothing there.

Downing has been charged with one count of falsely reporting an incident in the first degree and one in the third degree.
