SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- People got a chance to talk about plans for Onondaga Creek in Syracuse Wednesday. It was the second of three public meetings looking at the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program.

The goal is to connect Syracuse City neighborhoods to Onondaga Creek and the Creekwalk. With money from the New York Department of State, construction will improve access to the creek.

City leaders say it will be great for the community.

"The creek's an opportunity to reconnect to that natural habitat. To connect to the recreational opportunities associated with the creek. And acknowledge that the creek is an asset in our community," said Owen Kerney.

Right now, city officials are looking at six different sites. People were asked for their thoughts on each location. Only one site will be developed.
