BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- Congressman Richard Hanna was at one of the country's largest private companies Thursday to pitch his plan for how to create jobs.
Hanna, who is facing Democrat Dan Lamb in the new 22nd Congressional District race, visited the Maines Warehouse in Conklin. He says say the current tax codes are holding businesses back from growth.
"Everybody knows that the tax code is 80,000 plus pages of the most complicated tax code in the world with the highest tax rates. What's going to happen with that when these changes that we know are coming to kind of simplify and reduce the overall burden to everybody," Hanna said.
Hanna says simpler and more predictable taxes would encourage New York State companies to hire more employees.
Both he and Lamb have proposed multiple changes aimed at bringing jobs back to the states from overseas.
