SALINA, N.Y. -- A driver is charged with DWI following a one-car crash that injured two people in Onondaga County.

Sheriff's Deputies say 38-year-old Kirk Thompson lost control of his vehicle on the on ramp to I-81S on Old Liverpool Road in the Town of Salina just after 8:30 p.m. Friday.

The vehicle hit a guard rail then hit a concrete barrier head-on.

Thompson was taken to Upstate University Hospital with critical injuries, but is now listed in stable condition. Front seat passenger 53-year-old Robert Bourguignoni was treated for minor injuries.

Thompson has been ticketed with DWI.

The crash is still under investigation.
