BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- People in Binghamton gathered at Saint Michael's Center this weekend to celebrate all the cultures of Broome County. The seventh annual Broome County Ethnic Festival aims to showcase all the different ethnicities in the area.
Organizers said it's home to people from 120 different countries. Visitors enjoyed everything from Italian to Irish food, as well as different traditional dances. Organizers said the event unifies everyone, and helps to educate them in a fun environment.
"Here today at the Ethnic Festival you could travel the world by the foods and performances we have. It's a great way to expose ourselves to everything that's out there in the world. We're so privileged in Broome County to be able to experience it all, because this is really a melting pot," explained Jim Worhach, event organizer.
Worhach said the event gets bigger and better each year.
