SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Walkers marched at Onondaga Community College this weekend to help support healthy babies.
The annual March for Babies brought the community together to raise money for the March of Dimes.
The organization works toward preventing birth defects and premature deliveries.
Officials say it's a mission that has a big impact in Central New York.
CNY March of Dimes Chairman Jim McCarthy said, "In Onondaga County, one out of every eight children are born premature, so from a local standpoint it's very important. The work the March of Dimes does on a national basis really helps fund a lot of the efforts that are happening today to help those children."
