CAZENOVIA, N.Y. -- A local Olympian is honored in Madison County.

People gathered at Cazenovia College Sunday to celebrate the accomplishments of show jumper Beezie Madden. She competed in the London Olympic games and won medals in the Beijing and Athens Olympics.

Madden was given an Equine Ambassador Award from the New York Farm Bureau. On Sunday, she told friends and fans that she couldn't have accomplished so much alone.

"It's really a team effort here," Madden said. "We have a staff of 14 people working on our farm and a few other part-time people, and some of them are here. I want to thank everybody for that. They are as much a part of my success."

Madden is scheduled to be inducted into the Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame Monday.
