Two people were killed in a two car crash early Monday morning. It happened on the eastbound lane of Interstate 690 in Geddes. State Police are still piecing together the cause. Meanwhile, friends of one of the victims are leaving tributes on social media. Iris St. Meran has more.

ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- There is still no word at this time on the exact cause of the crash. Investigators tell us three people were traveling in a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix eastbound on Interstate 690. The driver, a 20-year-old woman, lost control and the car spun and hit a concrete median.

The front seat passenger, Ryan Misener, 21, of Liverpool, was killed. His friends created a memorial page on Facebook in his honor.

Friends of his reminisced on memories they had and how much he will be missed.
His co-workers at the Retreat Restaurant in Liverpool also wrote how much he will be missed on the restaurant's Facebook page.

There was a third passenger in the vehicle, Joseph Clayton. He is said to have severe head trauma and is listed in critical condition.

Police say another vehicle driven by David Grice of Fulton couldn't avoid the Pontiac and hit the vehicle on the driver's side. He has serious injuries.

The Pontiac wasn't registered to any of the passengers and that made it challenging for investigators.

"I understand it was borrowed from another party. It certainly wasn't registered to any of the three that were in the car. That's part of what the identifications so difficult," said New York State Police captain Mark Lincoln.

Captain Lincoln says David Grice was on his way to work at the time of the crash. He also says the three in the Pontiac were coming from a gathering at a home in Van Buren. It's unclear where they were headed.

The investigation is still ongoing.
