SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A Syracuse school teacher will spend three years on probation for having sexual contact with a minor. Jesus Rolon, 34, was sentenced Tuesday in Onondaga County Court. He pleaded guilty in August to endangering the welfare of a child.

He was originally charged with a criminal sexual act, but pleaded guilty to the lesser charge in exchange for giving up his teaching license.

Rolon was taken into custody after two inmates recognized him at the Onondaga County Justice Center, where he had been working as a teacher through the city school district.

One of the men said he had a sexual encounter with Rolon in his DeWitt home in September of 2010, along with a second incident where authorities say Rolon paid the victim.
