LERAY, N.Y. -- A dozen students have been transported to the hospital following an accident involving a school bus in the Jefferson County town of LeRay. Dispatchers say it happened at about 7 a.m. on Route 11 near the Route 26 intersection.

Indian River School officials confirm that the bus was rear-ended by a truck as a traffic light turned to red.

There were 21 students on the bus. Some of them complained of bumps and neck pain, but it doesn't appear as though anyone was seriously hurt.

The road has since been cleared but deputies continue to investigate the incident.
