Hammer attack suspect arrested in North Carolina
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A construction worker accused of attacking another worker at Destiny USA is being held for extradition in North Carolina. Police say Leroy Smith, 36, attacked Patrick Bell, 39, with a hammer in a dispute over money while the two were working at the mall on October 5th.
Bell remains in serious condition at Upstate University Hospital.
Smith was arrested in North Carolina on Tuesday. He's charged with first-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
