ROME, N.Y. – Twenty-two schools in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse are getting the chance to Skype with Bishop Robert Cunningham from Vatican City this week. The Bishop is overseas for the canonization of Marianne Cope and Kateri Tekakwitha.
The Diocese planned this social media aspect of the trip to allow students to follow the Bishop's journey.
Students at Rome Catholic School got the chance to take part in a 30 minute Skype session from St. Peter's Square Thursday afternoon.
In addition to the Skype sessions, Bishop Cunningham has also set up chat rooms, video clips and many other resources for students and teachers to access.
