UTICA, N.Y. -- Utica police have arrested a man for possessing of a large amount of heroin.

Police say that during a traffic stop near Pleasant and West streets in the City of Utica Thursday, they found Orlando Cruz, 48, in possession of 30 baggies of heroin. The say the drug amounted to more than 13 grams and had a street value of $1,500.

Cruz has been charged with multiple felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
