Police search for home invasion suspect

AUBURN, N.Y. -- Auburn Police are searching for a man who is responsible for a home invasion and assault in the city. It happened around 6:00 a.m. on Saturday at an apartment on Barber Street.

According to investigators, a masked person broke into the apartment of Willam Snook, 24, while he was sleeping, and demanded money. The suspect stabbed Snook in the leg, and ran off with property from the apartment. Snook is currently at Auburn Community Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect description is limited at this time. Police only know that the suspect was about six feet tall and was wearing some type of covering on his face, along with a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Auburn Police at (315) 253-3231.
