ONEIDA, N.Y. -- The Mayor of the City of Oneida passed away after battling an illness.
Don Hudson worked in the City of Oneida for decades, mainly as a firefighter. He spent years as the city's fire chief before he became mayor.
Many people remembered Hudson's work throughout his career.
"Don was a loving dedicated family man. He had so many of those properties and character traits that we all respect in America. He was hard working, he loved his family and he was dedicated to his community," said Deputy Mayor Alden Max Smith.
Don Hudson was 56-years-old.
