SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Boys and Girls Club of Syracuse score a grant for the Triple Play Program. It is part of a three-year partnership with Excellus BlueCross BlueShield.
The grant will pay for the Triple Play Programs, which strives to improve the overall health of club members between the ages of 6 and 18. In addition to increasing awareness of proper nutrition, the program will also focus on increasing the number of young people participating.
"We really want to make alternative choices, there are other things than drugs and alcohol, there's other things than eating candy and soda, there's other things than sitting on the sofa playing video games," said David Hazelton, Board President. "We want to get the people out, get them running, exercising, and forming better habits with respect to what they eat and drink."
The grant money will be distributed between all four Syracuse clubs.
