LYSANDER, N.Y. -- Baldwinsville is one step closer to getting a new YMCA. The Greater Syracuse chapter approved a new location along River Road in Lysander.

The proposed site is on 49 acres of property that was donated by the owner of Timber Banks Development. Now the YMCA will work with Lysander leaders for regulatory approval. Leaders will than being a fundraising push in order to make the center a reality.

For months, the YMCA has been looking at locations throughout the Baldwinsville area. People in Radisson filed a lawsuit to keep the proposed YMCA out of a potential site on State Route 31 and Drake's Landing.
