JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- Route 81 Southbound in Jefferson County is back open. Both lanes were closed Wednesday morning after Sheriff's deputies say a large tractor riding on a flatbed truck hit an underpass of a bridge at Adams Center exit number 42. The tractor ended up on the road after sliding off the flat-bed

A flashing light warning system was installed for over-sized vehicles approaching Exit 42. It's unknown whether the system was working during the time of the crash.
