Police officer charged in 1983 homicide
SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY, Pa. -- A police officer in Susquehanna County has been accused of murdering his wife almost 30 years ago.
The state attorney general's office charged John Walker, 52, a part-time officer with the Montrose Borough Police Department, with homicide Wednesday.
Walker's estranged wife, Lynda Walker, died back in 1983. At the time, authorities believed she committed suicide, but now they say they have reason to believe that John shot and killed her in his mobile home in New Milford.
John Walker is currently being held in jail. He has since been suspended from the Montrose Police Department.
