SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse Police have made an arrest in connection with a homicide outside the B&B Lounge last month.
Anthony Hopper, 25, was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon for the shooting death of Rodney Maddux, 23.
Maddux and two other victims were shot outside of the bar on South Avenue on September 30th.
After interviewing numerous witnesses, police released surveillance video from that night, hoping to track down the suspect. Syracuse Police Chief Frank Fowler says the video helped locate key witnesses and ultimately find Hopper.
"I'm very pleased that we're starting to see the trend of citizens coming forward and assisting in investigations like this," Fowler said.
Hopper is being held at the Criminal Justice Center. He is expected to be arraigned Thursday morning.
