SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Crouse Hospital in Syracuse has eliminated nearly two dozen management positions.
Twenty-three jobs in all were cut to prepare for reductions in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement.
The hospital's vice president of communications says it was a painful decision, but will help better position Crouse for the health care reform, which will create challenges for all hospitals. He says three of the positions were currently vacant and none were directly involved in patient care.
