SYRACUSE, N.Y. –- We have an important traffic alert to pass along for morning commuters. Interstate 690 east will be closed starting Friday at 9 a.m.

Crews will be working on the bridge over North Crouse Ave. throughout the weekend. Work is scheduled to be complete by midday Monday.

During that closure, drivers will be forced to exit the highway at the Interstate 81 interchange.

The closure was scheduled for last week but was then postponed due to a game at the Carrier Dome.
