BREWERTON, N.Y. -- Crews made quick work of a fire in Brewerton. Firefighters were called to a home on Bennett Street around 4:45 a.m. They arrived to find smoke coming out of the building.
The fire started in the basement, and crews were able to stop the flames before they spread too far.
"It started through the walls to the first floor, and crews got it on the first floor before it could get to the second," said Brewerton Fire Chief Rob Zacholl.
Investigators are now looking into what sparked the fire.
