BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. -- It was a gorgeous fall evening for the opening of this year's Enchanted Beaver Lake event. More than 500 jack-o-lanterns lined two trails of the Baldwinsville Nature Park. The event also featured a magician, story teller, animals, and lots of food.
Organizers say it’s a non-spooky way to embrace the Halloween spirit while enjoying the outdoors.
"It's kind of our way of celebrating Halloween in a non-scary family-friendly way. Nothing is scary, everything is enchanted, and you know we just like getting people out in the woods at night because a lot of people wouldn't feel comfortable normally doing that," said Meg Valovage, naturalist.
Enchanted Beaver Lake is sold out again tonight, but passes are still available for Saturday and Sunday. You can buy them in person either at Beaver Lake Nature center or the Griffin Visitor Center at Onondaga Lake Park.
