BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. -- A popular local brewery has teamed up with the American Cancer Society in an inaugural event. “Hops for Hope” was held Thursday evening at the Budweiser Brewery in Baldwinsville. It featured product sampling, dinner, raffles, and facility tours.
The event proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society for research, education, and patient services.
"Tickets are $100 and we get to keep all of the proceeds, and all of that money stays local and goes to the life saving mission of the American Cancer Society," said Betsy Guilfoil, Dir. of Special Events at American Cancer Society.
"We have some of our employees that are inflicted with cancer and so we feel personally and we think what the American Cancer Society does is really great to make Central New York a better place to live and a better place to work," said Steve McCormick, General Manager Anheuser Busch Brewery.
And organizers say they raised close to $50,000 at Thursday night's event.
