Police officer resigns after DWI charge
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- A Binghamton police officer has resigned after being charged with DWI. Christopher Stoeckel, 33, submitted his resignation Friday morning after spending four years with the department.
Stoeckel was arrested by Binghamton police shortly after he arrived at work on October 16th. He was immediately suspended without pay.
An arraignment date has not yet been set.
