SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse University Public Safety officers are looking for two men who tried to rob a student. It happened around 10:40 p.m. Thursday on the 900 block of Lancaster Avenue.

The Department of Public Safety says the student was approached by two men. One asked to use the student's cell phone, and the other pressed something against his back when he refused.

The victim gave the men his phone and headphones, and noticed one of the suspects had a handgun. Investigators say as the student was walking away, the suspects gave his property back and ran off. It's not clear why they returned the items.
