Power companies ready for Sandy
STATEWIDE -- Power companies around the region are preparing for the potential onslaught of Sandy. National Grid is in full mobilization mode with 300 line crews, 50 contractors, and 200 tree trimming crews ready to go. NYSEG has 440 personnel ready, with 220 crews, 107 tree trimming contractors, and 59 contractor crews.
There are also power crews from the Chicago area that are heading east to assist with potential outages from the storm. One electric company is sending more than 240 crews and 700 workers to help in Philadelphia and Baltimore.
