As Sandy continues to be a threat to the state, it's creating a problem for travelers. At Hancock International Airport, some flights have been cancelled, while Amtrak has cancelled all train services along the eastern seaboard. Our Brad Vivacqua has the latest details.

NEW YORK – Looking at this afternoon and into tomorrow, most flights scheduled to depart from Hancock International Airport have been cancelled. The Aviation Commissioner says the storm's potential impact on flights in other cities the airport serves as the reason for the cancellations.

Many of those flights that leave here on a daily basis are linked to cities like New York City, New Jersey, and Boston.

Anyone who has a scheduled flight over the next few days should either call their airline or continue to check the airport’s website.

As for train service, that is also being affected by the approaching storm. Amtrak cancelled all trains originating from the northeast beginning at 7 p.m. That's why travelers at Syracuse's Regional Transportation Center Sunday evening were expected to be the last taking trains out of the area before the storm.

We spoke to one couple that got some of the last tickets for a train headed to Chicago. Their flight to D.C. was cancelled Sunday morning because of the weather.

"I mean, we could've flown out, but it would've been three days. We would have had to be three days here or three days in D.C. before we could fly out, and this was great. We needed to be in Chicago, so it's perfect," said David Scott, a Texas resident.

Fortunately, it worked out for him, but not everyone can say the same.

Amtrak expects to cancel all services along the eastern seaboard until further notice.
