CORNING, N.Y. -- Sandy drenched much of the Southern Tier Monday. This video was taken on the west end of Market Street in Corning.

The rain began early Monday afternoon and continued through the evening where it picked up. Winds also started whipping through with gusts reaching up to 60 miles per hour through the night.

People were still on the roads Monday evening even though drivers were told to stay off of the streets. Leaders want roads cleared for emergency personnel.
