BREWERTON, N.Y. -- National Grid teams had quite the mess to clean up in Brewerton Tuesday, after a garbage truck dragged down a power line.

Crews say the wires over Charles Street were hanging low because of the wind and got caught on a Waste Management truck that was driving by. The driver didn't notice what happened and wound up snapping the pole, dragging it a hundred yards down the road.

We also heard that when the pole came down, it nearly missed several people who were standing outside their pickup truck.

Fortunately no one was hurt and National Grid is in the process of making repairs to get everyone back in service.
