Diamond claims two Twins Diamond awards
MINNEAPOLIS, MN - Former BU pitcher Scott Diamond was named the Minnesota Twins' pitcher and rookie of the year when the club announced its 2012 Diamond Awards Tuesday.
Diamond went 1-5 in seven starts with the Twins in 2011 but was a revelation in 2012 leading the club with 12 wins for a team that finished 30 games under the .500 mark.
The onetime Bearcats star also tossed his first major league shutout July 27, a three-hit victory over the Cleveland Indians.
Diamond is already being labeled the Twins' ace for the 2013 season.
