NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. -- The push is on for candidates to get their message out before voters head to the polls next week. Many of them made the same campaign stop Wednesday at the New Hartford Senior Center.
Richard Hanna and Dan Lamb, candidates for the 22nd Congressional District, were there, along with candidates for the 101st Assembly District, Claudia Tenney and Dan Carter. They talked with seniors about a number of issues, from health care and Medicaid to hydrofracking and energy.
"This has given them an opportunity to ask questions and concerns and the candidate's there to meet with them and talk with them and that's important. I really appreciate them being here," said Eileen Spellman, Director of Senior Services.
Organizers say after interacting with the candidates one on one, they believe many of the seniors were able to make their final voting decisions.
