FORT DRUM, N.Y. -- Eight Black Hawk helicopters loaded with Fort Drum soldiers who are trained and equipped for disaster relief traveled to Massachusetts. They will be in position to help with the Hurricane Sandy relief effort.

The 10th Mountain Division's Combat Aviation Brigade left Wheeler-Sack Army Airfield on Fort Drum Wednesday morning for Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts. If they are called upon, troops will be able to get to a disaster area much faster than coming all the way from the North Country.
