ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. Many Central New Yorkers may not want to hear that word, but winter is on its way.
Onondaga County is preparing for the snowy season by getting roads ready and constructing a staple of the winter season.
Crews were in Syracuse Friday preparing for the opening of the Clinton Square Ice Rink. They put up a large storage tent for the Zamboni and got the rubber ready to roll out for the base of the rink.
Another sign that winter is approaching is the speed limit on the Onondaga Lake Parkway was lowered to 45 Thursday. Each year on November 1st, the speed limit drops 10 miles per hour for the winter months, then goes back up to 55 in the spring.
