Shooting victim now in serious condition

ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- An Onondaga County man's condition has improved after he was shot by his friend. Thomas Devine, 20, was shot at his home in Geddes Tuesday morning.

Michael Hallock, 20, of Camillus is facing assault charges in the shooting. Witnesses say Hallock and Devine were playing around with Devine's weapons throughout the night, at one time pointing them at each other. Eventually, they say Hallock fired a rifle straight at Devine's chest.

Investigators say although the shooting was unintentional, Hallock's conduct was criminal and reckless.

Devine is now listed in serious condition at Upstate University Hospital.
