BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Catholic Charities of Broome County and Clear Channel Radio are teaming up to provide Thanksgiving dinner for those in need.

The organizations are kicking off their annual Thanks for Giving Drive this Friday. An RV will be set up in front of the Vestal Wal-Mart for eight days. People can donate turkeys and other non-perishable food items.

Organizers say signups for Thanksgiving baskets have increased by 400 families this year. They're encouraging everyone to give back to the community.

"This is a way that our community can really give thanks for everything in their lives and really help people have a nice Thanksgiving dinner," said Lori Accardi, Catholic Charities of Broome County Executive Director.

Last year, the groups collected 3,300 turkeys. Their goal for this year is 3,500.
