MANLIUS, N.Y. -- The Manlius community has a new place to get fit, and much more. A ribbon cutting celebrated the official grand opening of the newest YMCA.
The location on West Seneca Street used to be a tennis-only facility, but thanks to a number of renovations, it is now a true community center. The 60,000 square-foot facility now features after school child care, adult wellness and yoga programs, and even an indoor turf field.
"We've listened to our community. One of the needs was an indoor practice facility for kids to participate on, rather than traveling in the hard winters to other locations throughout Syracuse," said Chris Nucerino, East Area Family YMCA Executive Director.
Saturday's celebration included tennis clinics, a boot camp, and games for kids.
