SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Fans throughout Upstate New York watched the Battle on the Midway on TV. It was strange for many seeing people wearing sunglasses at a basketball game. Bars and restaurants like Tully's were full of fans.

Many of the people that came out, loved watching basketball being played on an aircraft carrier.

"I'm a huge SU fan, and have been watching them for years. So it's really exciting for me to see them in a different light and showcasing themselves in a different way," said Brae Fuller, SU fan.

John Balloni, another fan, added, "I think it's very neat to see. Amazing how small that court looks on that boat there. Pretty neat!"

The first college basketball game on an aircraft carrier was played last year in San Diego on the U.S.S. Carl Vinson.
