SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A new home is being built for a veteran's family. Habitat for Humanity broke ground on its third Veteran Build Home on Sunday.

The Syracuse chapter was one of the first to start a program designed to help veterans. Leaders say there are thousands of disabled veterans in Onondaga County. This is one small step to help.

"We have thousands of veterans coming home. There is no appropriate, or affordable, and accessible housing for those veterans who are disabled," said Suzanne Williams, Syracuse Habitat for Humanity.

Dozens of volunteers will help build the home.

Habitat for Humanity has helped create 65 new homes in Syracuse.
