Syracuse Police investigate two armed robberies

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse Police are investigating two armed robberies that took place within a few hours Monday night. The first involved the armed robbery of a pizza delivery driver.

Police say it happened just before 6 p.m. on Village Drive. A man threatened the victim with a handgun before taking some cash. He was last seen running into the apartments on Village Drive. The victim was not hurt.

The suspect is described as a male in his 20s, about six feet tall, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The second robbery happened around 8:30 p.m. in a parking lot on 272 Taft Avenue. Police say a 30-year-old female was robbed by two men, both armed with handguns.

The first suspect is described as a male in his 30s, about six feet tall, last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants, a ski mask and gloves. The second suspect is a male in his 20s, about 5’10” tall, also wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants and ski mask.

No word if this robbery is related to the one earlier on Village Drive. Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call Syracuse Police.
