SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- New energy technology is on display in Syracuse.

General Electric has been on a nationwide tour of cities and campuses. The company is showcasing thermal devices that change the way power is produced.

From generators to entire plants, the company claims its technology can reduce carbon emissions.

A truck was at Syracuse University. Students got a chance to see some of their classroom lessons come to life.

"You know we kind of walk through it in terms that they can apply from their current thermal class. But it’s something we can talk to the general public as well. The general public can appreciate things like reduced CO2 emissions," said Jim Donohue, GE Thermal Product Marketing.

The next stop for the truck is Columbus, Ohio.

GE is visiting more than 25 cities across North America.
