ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- It's a glimpse into the future of Onondaga Lake. Honeywell has set up a new visitor center on the lake shore, near where the cleanup process is underway.

The aim is to educate the community on just how the lake is being cleaned. It also shares the vision for how the lake will be used once that process is complete.

"We want to get people out. We want to get them on the lake. Get an experience of the lake, access to the lake, and get an appreciation of what the lake can become here," said John McAuliffe, Honeywell Syracuse Program Director.

To visit the center, call 315-552-9751 or submit the form found on lakecleanup.com. Public open houses will be offered Friday afternoons during dredging, which will continue throughout the next several years, except during winter months. There is no fee to visit.
