SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Syracuse market at the center of a lottery scam investigation has had its lottery license suspended.
The New York State Lottery says the Green Ale Market's license was suspended Wednesday. The owner's sons are accused of scamming a customer out of a $5 million winning ticket in 2006 by saying it was only worth $5,000. They claim they bought the ticket themselves and held onto it for religious and safety reasons.
The New York State Lottery could not confirm when the suspension would be lifted or the specific reason behind it.
