UTICA, N.Y. -- A Rome man will spend up to 14 years behind bars for assaulting his infant daughter. Jonathan Greener was sentenced on three counts of assault in Oneida County Court Friday morning.

In September, the 20-year-old was convicted of breaking bones in his eight-week-old daughter's legs and right arm.

Greener was sentenced to seven years on each count. Two of those sentences will be served concurrently because the bones broke at the same time.

At his sentencing, Greener maintained his innocence and told the judge he shouldn't be going to jail. At trial, the defense maintained that the girl had a medical disorder which caused the bones to break on their own.

In addition to the prison time, an order of protection was issued prohibiting Greener from having contact with his daughter.
