HOMER, N.Y. - After getting by No. 3-ranked Jasper-Troupsburg 2-1 in the Class D state semifinals, No. 2 Poland will try for its first-ever championship against top-ranked and undefeated Chateaugay on Sunday.
That game is at SUNY Cortland starting at 1 p.m.
The Poland boys team, also ranked No. 2, did not fare as well in Middletown, falling to No. 1 Chazy 1-0 in a battle of unbeaten teams. Chazy will play Fort Ann in the championship game Sunday at 12:30.
