CAYUGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Cayuga County Sheriff's Deputies have identified the two people who died in a crash on Route 90 in Montezuma Tuesday night.

The crash happened around 6 p.m. and Michelle Bixby of The Auburn Citizen was able to get this photo before deputies closed off the road.

Deputies say Dawn Wilder-Smith, 43, of Port Byron, crossed into the path of a bus from the Seneca Falls School District, hitting it on the side. The bus slid off the road into bushes, while the car ricocheted into another vehicle, hitting it head on.

Wilder-Smith and a passenger in that third vehicle, Ann Eider, 73, of Clifton Springs, both died at the scene.

Two others in the third vehicle, Penny Eider, 53, and her father, Roger Eider, 75, were flown to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.

Roger Eider is listed in serious condition, while Penny Eider is in good condition.

One student on the bus was hospitalized with minor injuries. The sheriff says 15 kids and three adults were on board. They were coming back from a wrestling match in Port Byron.

Investigators are still looking into what caused the crash.
