BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. – It’s a Thanksgiving tradition in Central New York: thousands of people exercising before the afternoon feast. The 44th annual Turkey Trot in Baldwinsville hit the streets Thursday morning.

There was a fun run for kids, a 5K for adults, and for people who wanted to really stretch out before the big meal, a 10K.

The run is hosted by the Baldwinsville Kiwanis Club. Money raised is used to help organizations that support children.

"We send kids to Camp Kiwanis, we support the boy scouts, we support little league baseball, we actually donated a whole room to the Ronald McDonald House the past couple of years. Just all youth activities," said Fred Rood, Baldwinsville Kiwanis Club.

Organizers say people come from all over the state to run in the race.
